Each year, Camp Sunshine offers countless families the opportunity to put aside the stress and seriousness of having a child with a life-threatening illness and just have fun. It costs $2,000 a week for a family to attend Camp Sunshine, but thanks to the compassion of people like you, families like those youʼll see profiled below are able to attend COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE.
In 2003, our daughters Jo (21) and Jacy (19) were both diagnosed with a rare, fatal disease called Fanconi Anemia, and we moved from Kansas to Cincinnati so they could receive care at Cincinnati Childrenʼs Hospitalʼs Fanconi Anemia Comprehensive Care Center. We learned about Camp Sunshine from the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, and were first able to visit in 2006. Our family loves Camp Sunshine. We feel happy there. Everyone there has FA, or is related to an FA patient, so they understand everything weʼre going through. Joʼs favorite activities are the paddle boats and costume dance, while Jacy loves meeting new families and catching up with ones weʼve met at Camp Sunshine before.
